Enzo J. Sella, MD, Associate Clinical Professor at Yale University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in orthopedic education.
Inspired to enter the field of medicine by a general practitioner who visited his home as a child, Dr. Sella is a prominent orthopedic specialist and educator who has amassed nearly 50 fruitful years in the field. He received a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Fairfield University and a Doctor of Medicine from the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University. Thereafter, he completed an internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center and a residency in general surgery at the Hospital of St. Raphael. He concluded his medical training at Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he completed a residency in orthopedics.
Dr. Sella has taught in the department of orthopedics and rehabilitation of Yale University since 1973, having also served as the chief of orthopedics at St. Raphael Hospital in New Haven, CT, from 2005 to 2009. In addition to his primary roles, he also lent his expertise to Connecticut Orthopedic Specialists, Yale-New Haven Hospital and Milford Hospital, having also served as co-director of the Yale-New Haven Hospital Foot Clinic. Furthermore, he has served as an independent medical examiner to hundreds of patients and is board-certified by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners.
A longtime fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American College of Spine Surgery and the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, Dr. Sella has also maintained affiliation with the Connecticut State Medical Society and the American Medical Association. As a testament to his profound success, he was the recipient of an Orthopedic Teaching Award from Yale University in 1992 and was named to Top Doctors in Connecticut in 2015. He has been selected for inclusion in the 65th edition of Who’s Who in America.
