Anita Louise Rennecker, a Retired Family and Consumer Science Educator at Greene Local Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education.
An expert in textiles, sewing, and quilting, Ms. Rennecker thrived in her time as a family and consumer science educator. She first became interested in the profession because of her aunt, a teacher, and over the years, she remained steadfast in her goals. To prepare for her endeavors, Ms. Rennecker obtained a Bachelor of Education from Manchester College in 1959, completed postgraduate work at Ashland University, and became a certified home economics teacher through the American Home Economics Association.
Degrees in hand, Ms. Rennecker set out to make her mark on the world. She started as an English and art teacher at Orrville Junior High School, and then became a substitute teacher for Wayne County Schools. The experience propelled her to positions as a teacher of vocational home economics at Chippena Local Schools, Rittman Exempted Village Schools, and Greene Local Schools. Although Ms. Rennecker retired in 1999, she remains involved in her community as a member of the Wayne County Farm Bureau Council.
