Carol Lee-Piskoti, Art Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fine arts education.

Mrs. Lee-Piskoti feels fortunate to have found a vocation that was able to marry her love of art with her love of children. As an art educator, she is able to enlighten, relax and teach young minds something that has always been very important in her life. The highlights of her career have been watching her students go on to be successful in whatever they choose to do, whether it is art or something else such as computer design. She has always told her students to follow what makes them happy. In her own journey through art, Mrs. Lee-Piskoti was inspired by her mentors and parents who always encouraged her. One of her mentors, Robert Colescott, was a very famous painter and her teacher at California State University.

Mrs. Lee-Piskoti earned a BFA from California State University in 1971 and became certified to teach in the state. She taught in the Sacramento City School District from 1973 until 2010. From 2002 to 2005, she was a member of the staff and a facilitator of the California Consortium for Arts Education. In more recent years, she has volunteered at the Crocker Art Museum. She has served on the Teaching Advisory Board at the museum since 2002. In addition, she has chaired the Northern Area Youth Art Month with the California Art Education Association, and served on the Chair of Volunteers at the association. She has also maintained affiliation with the National Art Education Association.

Looking toward the future, Mrs. Lee-Piskoti endeavors to enjoy life to the fullest as you never know when anything is going to happen to you. In her spare time, she loves to travel and meet people and hopes to do more of both in her coming years. In recognition of her work, Mrs. Lee-Piskoti received the Ruth Jansen Award and Distinguished Visual Art Education of the Year award from the California Art Education Association in 2004. In 2001, she received an Award of Merit from the association. In 1989, she was the recipient of the Honorary Service Award from the PTA at John F. Kennedy High School.
