Elizabeth Ann Goode, Ph.D., Retired Director and Music Educator at East Meadow Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in music education.
Drawing upon nearly four decades of experience, Dr. Goode is an accomplished music educator who most recently served as a choral director and music theory teacher at East Meadow Schools from 1962 until her retirement from the industry in 1992. Prior to this illustrious role, she served as a vocal music teacher at Raleigh Schools from 1961 to 1963, a vocal music teacher at Plainview Schools from 1956 to 1961, and a piano teacher at Kings Mountain Schools from 1954 to 1955. Alongside her primary endeavors, she was an adjudicator of the New York State School Music Association between 1966 and 1992.
Dr. Goode holds a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University, a Master of Arts from Adelphi University, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Cincinnati. She has been certified to teach music in the states of New York and North Carolina. She has maintained affiliation with several organizations as a lifetime member, including the American Choral Director Association, the Guilford County Genealogical Society, the Jamestowne Society, the Old Tryon County Genealogical Society and Sigma Kappa.
As a testament to her success, Dr. Goode has been featured in several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education and Who’s Who of American Women.
