William Baylis, Science Centre Director and Distinguished University Professor Emeritus at the University of Windsor, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of science education.
Always interested in the sciences, Dr. Baylis has found immense success in the field of science education. He has served as the president of the board of the directors of the Canada South Science City since 2009 and has previously shared his knowledge as a physics professor for the University of Windsor in Canada from 1969 to 2005. In addition to these responsibilities, he has had contributed well over a hundred articles to professional journals, authored or edited several books, and served as the associate editor for the Canadian Journal of Physics and Advances in Applied Clifford Algebras. Dr. Baylis’ accomplishments are vast and include his extensive research in atomic interactions, foundations of relativistic and quantum dynamics and geometric algebra.
Bettering any organization with which he is affiliated, Dr. Baylis holds membership with the Canadian Association of Physicists, the American Association of Physics Teachers and the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. He has been a fellow of The American Physical Society and was awarded a University Professorship due to his excellence and contributions to the field of science education. He has created unique opportunities for others in the field of science, considering career highlights to be organizing international conferences on atomic spectral line broadening in 1974 and on geometric algebra in 1995. As a testament to his success, Dr. Baylis has been lauded with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and has been featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in Science and Engineering and Who’s Who in the World.
