Robert Street, Emeritus Campbell Professor at Stanford University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering education.

With decades of experience and dedication to his work, Dr. Street has made significant contributions to the field of engineering education. He has been affiliated with the School of Engineering at Stanford University since 1962 and since 2005 is recognized as the Campbell professor (emeritus) of fluid and applied mathematics. While working full-time at the institution, he had been named the William Alden and Martha Campbell professor of engineering from 1997 to 2004. He had also been the vice provost and dean of Libraries and Information Resources from 1992 to 1994, previously serving as vice president from 1987 to 1992.

Even in retirement, Dr. Street has been recalled to Stanford University on numerous occasions so others may benefit from his expertise. The institution remains forever special to him as it is where he matriculated, earned a Master of Science in civil engineering and a Doctor of Philosophy in fluid mechanics and applied mathematics, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi. He has also lent his talents to other institutions, serving as a visiting professor at the University of Liverpool, England, the University of Western Australia and James Cook University in Australia. Additionally, Dr. Street served with the civil engineering corps of the US Navy from 1957 to 1960.

Dr. Street was a senior post-doctoral fellow of the National Center for Atmospheric Research from 1978 to 1979 and a fellow of the Northeast Asia-US Forum on International Policy at Stanford University from 1985 to 1989. He is a member of esteemed organizations such as the American Meteorological Society, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Society of Civil Engineers, among others. People will learn from him for years to come via his creative works such as his book, “The Analysis & Solution of Partial Differential Equations,” and the numerous articles he has contributed to professional journals.  A testament to his vital industry contributions, Dr. Street has been lauded with The Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and has been featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the West and Who’s Who in the World.
