David Bedworth, Professor Emeritus at State University of New York at Plattsburgh, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health education.
Dedicated to ensuring the future well-being of others, Dr. Bedworth has committed himself to the field of health education. Like his father before him, he has found immense joy in teaching others the essentials of health care, holding the title of professor emeritus with the State University of New York at Plattsburgh since 2007. He has shared his knowledge with his students and in the various books he has written, including “The Profession and Practice of Health Education” and “Health for Human Effectiveness.” Dr. Bedworth is enormously proud of his four published works and is pleased to be working on another book.
True to his caring nature, Dr. Bedworth has lent his time as a drug education consultant for the Ticonderoga Central School District and for the Federal Correction Institution of Ray Brook, NY. He has improved the lives of many through his contributions to the STOP Center for Domestic Violence in Plattsburgh, NY, the American Lung Association and the New York State Department of Mental Hygiene. Additionally, he has held membership with the New York State Federation of Professional Health Educators and the American Public Health Association. In recognition of his invaluable work, Dr. Bedworth has been lauded with The Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and has been featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the East and Who’s Who in the World.
