Robin Magowan, Writer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of writing and education.

A prolific writer and dedicated educator, Dr. Magowan contributed greatly to educating others about the nuances of writing. Instead of entering the family business of Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, Dr. Magowan became a writer. He had been inspired by his second-uncle, the late poet James Merrill, and proved that he, too, possesses exceptional writing abilities. Honing his writing abilities, Dr. Magowan has published numerous influential works throughout his career.

In preparation for his career, Dr. Magowan earned a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University in 1958, a Master of Arts from Columbia University in 1960 and a Doctor of Philosophy from Yale University in 1964. Following these achievements, he worked as an assistant professor for the University of California from 1965 to 1970. Dr. Magowan has also been a lecturer and assistant professor for the University of Washington in Seattle from 1962 to 1965 and has served as an editor for Common Margin Limited from 1986 to 1990.

An accomplished writer, Dr. Magowan specializes in travel writing. He has had written numerous works that revolved around travel or other topics, including “Lilac Cigarette in a Wish Cathedral,” “Tour de France,” “The Garden Amazement” and “Internal Weather,” among many others.  Additionally, Dr. Magowan has been an assistant professor at the University California, Berkeley, from 1965 to 1970 and a lecturer and assistant professor for the University of Washington in Seattle from 1962 to 1965. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to literature and education, Dr. Magowan has been presented The Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
