With 30 years of professional experience, Ms. Immel is a celebrated educator who started serving at Downey Adult School and then moved to the Los Angeles County of Education where she was a teacher from 1993 to 2010. She taught at Garey High School from 1992 to 1993, Puente Hills High School from 1990 to 1992, and Whittier Adult and Occupational School and North Orange County Community College from 1988 to 1990. She also served as an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego and an adviser to the Home Economics Designated Subjects Credential Board from 1990 to 1992.

Ms. Immel holds a Bachelor of Science in home economics and Master of Arts in education from California State Polytechnic University, earned in 1984 and 1988, respectively. She is a certified elementary, secondary, adult and postsecondary teacher in the state of California, and she holds credentials in secondary administration. She had dreamed of being a teacher from a young age; however, the opportunity did not present itself until she reached an older age. Now a teacher, she is living her dream.

An author of curriculum in the field, Ms. Immel was the editor of newsletters for the Home Economic District Association in 1992 and the Home Economic Alumni Association from 1988 to 1992. Throughout the years, she has maintained affiliation with the American Home Economics Association, the Golden Key National Honour Society and Phi Upsilon Omicron. In recognition of her exceptional achievements, she was honored in the fourth edition of Who’s Who in American Education, published in 1993. However, the highlights of her career have always been hearing that she has influenced the lives of her former students, inspiring them to attend college.
