Amassing more than 30 years of professional experience, Ms. Fornadel is a respected and dedicated educator who has devoted her life to teaching children. Most recently serving as a sixth grade reading and language arts teacher at Allen Independent School District from 1993 until her retirement from the industry in 2016, she previously served as a fifth grade reading and language arts teacher at Belton Independent School District from 1988 to 1993 and a sixth grade teacher at Judson-Converse Independent School District from 1986 to 1988. She commenced her career as a sixth grade teacher at the Archdiocese of San Antonio from 1984 to 1986.
To prepare for her illustrious career, Ms. Fornadel pursued a formal education at Ohio State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in education in 1974. After obtaining some hands-on experience in the field, she earned a Master of Arts in education, curriculum and instruction from the University of Phoenix in 2005. She is a certified teacher in the state of Texas. In addition, she maintains affiliation with the International Literacy Association and Delta Kappa Gamma, where she served as secretary from 2004 to 2006.
In recognition of her exceptional achievements, Ms. Fornadel was listed in Who’s Who Among American Teachers from 2004 to 2006 and was nominated for Teacher of the Year by Allen Independent School District in 1998 and 2003. Married to David J. Fornadel, Ms. Fornadel is the proud mother of two children, Lenora and Todd, who are both teachers. She enjoys gardening, camping, hiking, sewing and reading in her spare time.
