Lenny N. Reed, Retired Secondary School Educator at Chinle Unified School District, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in secondary education.
With more than 35 years of professional experience, Mr. Reed is an esteemed educator who most recently served as a teacher of social sciences at Chinle Unified School District in Arizona from 1974 to 2012, having also acted as chair of the department of social sciences from 1982 to 1991 and again from 1996 to 2012. During this time, he additionally served as a student council advisor from 1975 to 1976 and again from 1978 to 1993. Alongside his primary endeavors, he also held the role of night staff member at Diné College from 1988 to 2008.
Since 2014, Mr. Reed has been vice chair of the Woods County Democratic Party, having previously held the position of president of the Northwest Oklahoma Genealogy Society and Woods County Retired Educators. Likewise, he has been chair of the human relations committee for the Arizona Education Association since 1999 and member of Greenpeace since 1984. The former president of the Chinle Education Association, he also maintains membership with the Gay and Lesbian Caucus with the Arizona Education Association and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force.
Mr. Reed holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He has been a certified social sciences teacher in Arizona and Oklahoma, as well as a certified English as a Second Language teacher. In recognition of his exceptional contributions to education, he was honored with the Human and Civil Rights Award from the Arizona Education Association in 2003. Notably, he has also been selected for inclusion in several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in the West, and Who’s Who in the World.
