With 65 years of professional experience, Dr. Poggioli is a celebrated medical educator and rehabilitation specialist who most recently served as a professor of business, medical and secretarial options at the City University of New York from 1965 to 1990. During this time, she served the university in a number of capacities, including as a coordinator of employment in the medical field from 1971 to 1990, a recruiter-advisor from 1973 to 1990, and on the employment committee with the Board of Higher Education in 1990. Since 1972, she has additionally served the university as a medical secretarial coordinator. Dr. Poggioli commenced her career as a therapist at the Veteran Affairs Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, director of the New York School of Industry, lecturer at Long Island University, and business educator at Heffley & Brown between 1953 and 1965.

To prepare for her illustrious career, Dr. Poggioli pursued formal education at St. John’s University, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1952. She subsequently earned a Master of Science from Long Island University in 1959. Completing postgraduate coursework at Brooklyn College in 1974, she also received a Doctoral Equivalency from the City University of New York the same year. In addition, she has completed additional coursework with the University of Siena program at the University at Buffalo in Italy. Dr. Poggioli is a certified rehabilitation therapist by the American Association of Rehabilitation Therapy.

The former conference chairman of the Eastern Business Education Association in 1983, Dr. Poggioli has contributed myriad articles to professional journals and was a fellow of the City University of New York Board of Higher Education and the American Association of Rehabilitation Therapy. In recognition of her exceptional contributions to her industry, she has been selected for inclusion in several editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in the East, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women.
