Elliot Magaziner, Musician, Conductor and Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in music composition.
Making his musical debut at Town Hall in New York City in 1952, Mr. Magaziner is a renowned musician, conductor and educator who has been a member of the faculty at the Westchester Conservatory of Music since 2001, having played and conducted concerts in the Summit Music Festival. Previously serving as a music director and professor of music at Manhattanville College in 1970, he also spent a significant amount of time as a staff artist and concertmaster for CBS-TV and Radio. Mr. Magaziner was a visiting conductor of the Dubuque Symphony and a soloist for the New York Philharmonic Symphony, Symphony of the Air, and Kol Visrael. He has also had recitals in New York City; Washington, DC; Detroit, MI; Amsterdam, the Netherlands; Paris, France; and Jerusalem, Israel.
To prepare for his illustrious career, Mr. Magaziner pursued a formal education at the National Orchestra Association and Princeton University, where he completed coursework from 1937 to 1943. He subsequently attended The Juilliard School, completing additional coursework from 1946 to 1950.
A member of the American Association of University Professors, Mr. Magaziner was the former president of the New York TV Musicians and secretary of the CBS Musicians Fund. He has recorded a plethora of compositions, including Charles Ives Sonata #2, which was picked by The New York Times as among the 10 best compositions of the year. Notably, due to his exceptional achievements in music, December 1st was named “Elliot Magaziner Day” by the Westchester County Legislature.
Among his prestigious accomplishments, Mr. Magaziner was additionally invited by Columbia University to perform before King George V, the King of England, while he accepted an honorary degree. Mr. Magaziner has been highlighted in several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Entertainment, Who’s Who in the East, and Who’s Who in the World.
