Sara Culbreth Corkill, Retired Middle School Educator at Woodstock Middle School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education.

With more than 30 years of professional excellence, Ms. Corkill is a versatile and respected educator who most recently served Woodstock Middle School in Georgia as a teacher from 2001 until her retirement from the industry in 2003. Prior to this appointment, she served as a teacher at Memorial Middle School from 1993 to 2001 and Salem High School from 1991 to 1993, a seventh grade teacher at Edwards Middle School from 1981 to 1991, a fifth grade teacher at Gould Elementary School in 1979, and a fifth and sixth grade teacher at Carver Elementary School from 1971 to 1978. In addition, she was a teacher of the gifted from 1999 to 2003.

To prepare for her illustrious career, Ms. Corkill pursued a formal education at the University of Georgia, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in education in 1971. Soon thereafter, she attended Georgia State University, earning a Master of Education in 1974. A member of the Georgia Retired Educators Association, she spends her spare time participating in the Fellowship Presbyterian Church ECO in Jasper, GA, as treasurer.

As a testament to her professional success, Ms. Corkill has accrued several accolades throughout her impressive career. Named Rockdale County Teacher of the Year in 1991, she was also named Edwards Middle School Teacher of the Year and a Mathematics/Science Outstanding Teacher in Georgia in 1990. Due to her diligence and passion for sports, she was also recognized as a Female Referee of the Year by the Georgia State Soccer Association in 1998.
