William C. Perkins, DBA, Retired Business Educator at Indiana University Bloomington, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business and higher education.

With nearly 40 years of professional excellence to his credit, Dr. Perkins is an accomplished and renowned business educator who most recently served as a professor at Indiana University Bloomington from 1974 to 2003, when he reached emeritus status. Prior to this appointment, he served the university as an assistant and associate professor between 1966 and 1974, as well as the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, NY, as an instructor and assistant professor between 1964 and 1966. Alongside his primary endeavors, he held research and teaching assignments at the University of Hawaii, the University of Minnesota, the National University of Singapore, Arizona State University and the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, teaching at the undergraduate, masters, doctoral, and executive program levels.

The co-author of nine books, including “Managing Information Technology” in 2012, Dr. Perkins has published myriad papers in such esteemed journals as the Journal of Political Economy, the Journal of Operations Management, the International Journal of Production Research, and the International Journal of Purchasing and Materials Management, among others. Highly educated, he holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration and Doctor of Business Administration in quantitative business analysis from Indiana University.

As a testament to his professional success, Dr. Perkins has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. He has received 11 major teaching awards from Indiana University, including the prestigious Frederick Bachman Lieber Award, the Senior Class Outstanding Teacher Award, and the Harry C. Sauvain Award for excellence in undergraduate teaching. Likewise, he received the Distinguished Service Award from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in 1999, as well as the Indiana University Distinguished Service Award in 2003. The Decision Sciences Institute, where he serves as a fellow and former president, has honored him with the Distinguished Service Award, and in 1994, he received the 25 Year Distinguished Service Award from the Midwest Decision Sciences Institute, the first and only such award given by the organization. Dr. Perkins has further been listed in several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education and Who’s Who in the Midwest.
