Serving as an instructor and hospitality consultant at Southern Illinois University since 2009, he previously acted as a professor at Ferris State University from 1991 to 2003 and associate professor and director at Morris Brown College from 1989 to 1991. He commenced his career as an assistant professor and director at Wiley College in 1989.
To prepare for his illustrious career, Dr. Agbeh pursued formal education at Florida International University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in hospitality management in 1982 and 1983, respectively. After obtaining some hands-on experience in the field, he received a Doctor of Philosophy in curriculum and instruction from Southern Illinois University in 2015. He has been a certified hotel administrator since 1996.
The co-author of four books and author of four manuscripts, Dr. Agbeh has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was nominated for the Award for Academic Excellence from Ferris State University in 2003 and was a finalist for the Steve Fletcher Achievement Award from the Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education from 2000 to 2001. Likewise, he was a finalist for the Outstanding Advisor Award from the College of Business and a founding fellow of the American Hotel and Lodging Foundation. He has been selected for inclusion in several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education and Who’s Who in the World.
