William Howard Frishman, Cardiologist, Educator, Department Chairman, Cardiovascular Pharmacologist and Gerontologist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in cardiology, cardiovascular epidemiology and pharmacology education.

Supported by his experience of working more than four decades in the medical field, Dr. Frishman is integral in the lives of so many students and patients. With his wealth of knowledge he currently is the Director of Medicine at Advanced Physician Services since 2013. Since 1997, he has also been the Chief of Medicine at the Westchester Medical Center and a Professor of Medicine and Pharmacology at New York Medical College. In his career, Dr. Frishman has also taught at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine with Yeshiva University and Cornell University. He has directed programs and practiced medicine at Einstein Hospital and Montefiore Hospital. He has served as an expert consultant for the Cardiorenal Division of the Food and Drug Administration and as a member of the US Pharmacopeia Convention.

Dr. Frishman’s career is supported by his own academic pursuits, having received a BA and MD at Boston University. After receiving the MD, he interned and completed a residency at Montefiore Hospital. He continued to complete a residency in medicine at Bronx Municipal and Einstein Hospitals. From 1972 to 1974, he was a fellow in cardiology at New York Hospital. Dr. Frishman has been recognized on numerous occasions for the outstanding quality of his work. He was named to the Boston Collegium of Distinguished Alumni by Boston University in 1988, and became a Distinguished Alumnus of the School of Medicine in 1994. From 1980 to 1985, Dr. Frishman received the Preventative Cardiology Academy Award from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. He has received additional awards from the AAMC-AOA. He is a master within the American College of Physicians and a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. Dr. Frishman has maintained professional affiliation with the Association Professors of Cardiology, the Association Professors of Medicine, the American Society for Clinical Research and a variety of other organizations.
