Carol Mavromatis Crouse, Elementary School Educator at the Upper Darby School District, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education.
Dedicated to nurturing young minds, Ms. Mavromatis Crouse has spent much of her career as an elementary educator. She taught first through fifth grade students in the Upper Darby School District of Pennsylvania from 1974 to 2010. Ms. Mavromatis Crouse has also been a member of the Science Curriculum Commission for the district from 1974 to 2010.
Ms. Mavromatis Crouse has been involved in other career related pursuits. She has been a member of the Highland Park Elementary School Learn and Serve Community Service Center since 2004, a supervisor for Kids Care Club from 2000 to 2002 and a teacher as well as advisory board member for the Philadelphia Zoo from 1995 to 2002. Furthermore, she has been involved with the NASA Lunar Rock and Meteorite Education Program from 1993 to 2010, the writing and evaluation team of the REEP Environmental Education Program at Schuykill Valley Nature Center from 1993 to 1994 and a member of the Excellence Education Team for Hillcrest Elementary School in Pennsylvania since 1987.
Lending her time and talents to others, Ms. Mavromatis Crouse has volunteered with the Collenbrook Colonial Farm since 2016 and is a member of the St. Luke’s Church choir. She holds memberships with various organizations, having served as supervisor of the Upper Darby Recording Department Extended Day Care from 2004 to 2015 and as co-director of the Upper Darby Recreation Tennis Tournament from 1987 to 1996. Ms. Mavromatis Crouse is also a member of the National Science Teachers Association and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and Phi Delta Kappa International.
Ms. Mavromatis Crouse has been recognized for her accomplishments. She has been inducted into Phi Delta Kappa as well as received the Howard W. McComb Award in 1981 during her time at Temple University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in education in 1972 and a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction in 1981. Furthermore, Ms. Mavromatis Crouse has been featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in the East, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women, and has been a recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
