Kathryn Goshen, retired teacher and department chair at Bishop Moore Catholic High School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in history and government education.
With more than 30 years of professional experience, Ms. Goshen has been retired since 2010, having been a social studies and history teacher, as well as the department chair at Bishop Moore Catholic High School since 1979. She was also active with the advanced placement students in US history and government education.
Ms. Goshen began her career as a student at Sullins College, obtaining an Associate of Arts in liberal arts in 1960. Initially intending to go into politics, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Stetson University in 1962. After an illness, she took a teaching seminar, and found a school needing a history teacher. She tried it for a semester, and finding that she not only had a talent for it but truly enjoyed it, she stayed with it, helping to educate the upcoming generations throughout her career.
