Elliot Pierce, PhD, Professor and Chair of the Department of Humanities at Indian River State College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in philosophy.
With more than 30 years of professional experience, Dr. Cohen has been a professor of philosophy at Indian River State College since 1989. He has also exercised his skills and guidance as Chair of the Department of Humanities since 1999. Since 2009, Dr. Cohen took on the role of adjunct professor of clinical ethics for the Florida State University College of Medicine Regional Campus Department of Medical Humanities. In 1985, Dr. Cohen founded the Logic-Based Therapy Institute National Center for Research, Training, and Clinical Practice of Logic-Based Therapy, for which he still serves as president.
Dr. Cohen began his career as a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy. He continued his studies at Brown University, earning a Master of Arts and a Doctor of Philosophy in philosophy. He has been recognized as a fellow of the Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical Company and the Secular Policy Institute.
