Thomas Trott, PhD, Research Associate and Professor of Biology at the R.S. Friedman Field Station at Suffolk University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in field biology.

With more than 30 years of professional experience, Dr. Trott has been a professor of biology at Suffolk University, as well as a research associate with the school’s R.S. Friedman Field Station since 1998. Prior to obtaining his current roles, he was a teaching assistant at Boston University from 1988 to 1990.

Dr. Trott began his career as a student at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in biology in 1977. He continued his studies at Wake Forest University, completing a Master of Arts in biology in 1979. Dr. Trott subsequently earned a PhD in biology from Boston University in 1988. In the coming years, he intends to teach less and focus more on writing and research where he is at Suffolk University. He maintains affiliation with the New England Ocean Science Education Collaborative (NEOSEC)  and the Gulf of Maine Marine Education Association.
