Megan Kennedy, Private Music Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements and leadership in piano instruction.

With 30 years of professional experience Ms. Kennedy has been both a private and company piano Educator. She taught at both Maxwell Music and The Michigan Music Center in the early 2000s. Earlier in her career, she enjoyed a post instructing at St. Clair College. It was here where she knew that training others was her true forte. According to the National Association of Music Merchants, music education helps facilitate learning in all subjects and contributes to social enhancement. It is one of the many reasons why Ms. Kennedy has remained a dedicated music education professional. Ms. Kennedy’s students have earned high school diplomas and Paderewski Medals with NGPT and many Gold Cups through the the NFMC in both piano solo performance and music theory assessments.

Ms. Kennedy began her career as a student, participating in the certificate program with Trinity College of Music where she studies both music theory and piano performance.  Ms. Kennedy was once a piano student of concert piano maestro Dr. Adolf Hallis. In 1984, she obtained a CIDESCO Diploma with the Isa Carstens Academy and from 1985 to 1988 Ms. Kennedy completed music coursework at the University of South Africa. She also studied women’s studies with the Universitys of Michigan and is certified as a piano teacher with the National Guild of Piano Teachers and the American College of Musicians.

Ms. Kennedy is a member of professional organizations such as the MTNA (Music Teachers National Organization), the National Federation of Music Clubs, the National Guild of Piano Teachers (NGPT) and of the American College of Musicians. In 2007, Ms. Kennedy was inducted to the Piano Guild USA Hall of Fame and more recently, she was celebrated with the Albert Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition to her professional endeavors, Ms. Kennedy volunteers with the National Guild of Piano Teachers, helps with annual auditions at the American College of Musicians, serves as the chairperson of the Livonia-West Bloomfield Center and volunteers annually at the Michigan Federation of Music Clubs’ annual festival.
