A celebrated figure in the field of music education, Dr. Frady has amassed more than 25 years of professional excellence in her areas of expertise. A music teacher at Hasty Elementary Fine Arts Academy in Canton, GA, since 2005, she previously worked as an adjunct professor at Piedmont College in 2012 and a music teacher for kindergarten through sixth grade at the Cherokee County Board of Education from 1991 to 2005. She has continued to serve as a teacher for the Fourth Cohort Cherokee County inTech Redelivery at the Cherokee County Board of Education since 2003.
To prepare for her illustrious career, Dr. Frady pursued a formal education at the University of West Georgia, receiving a Bachelor of Music in piano performance in 1980. After obtaining some hands-on experience in the field, she attended Brenau University, where she earned a master’s degree in early elementary education in 2005. Soon thereafter, she received a Specialist in Education degree in curriculum and instruction in 2007 and a Doctor of Education in teaching and learning education from Piedmont College in 2012. She has since earned a Conversational Solfege certification, educational first steps certification, MIE certification, P-5 certification, P-12 music educator certification, and Microsoft in Education certification.
Alongside her primary endeavors, Dr. Frady has participated in a number of civic engagements, including as secretary-treasurer of the Cherokee Soccer Booster Club in 2008 and president and vice president of the Cherokee Basketball Booster Club from 2000 to 2002. She also served on the Quaver advisory council of Quaver’s World of Music. In addition, she has maintained affiliation with several organizations in the field, including the Hasty Elementary Fine Arts Academy’s Drama Club, the Georgia Association for Educators, the Music Educators National Conference, the National Association for Music Educators, and the Georgia Music Educators Association.
In recognition of her exceptional contributions to music education, Dr. Frady has accrued several accolades throughout her career. Most recently, she was named Teacher of the Year by Hasty Elementary School in 2010 and was placed on the Wall of Tolerance in 2005. Canton Elementary School also named her Teacher of the Year in 1995 and 2004, and she was honored with the Cherokee County Technology Blazer Award in 2000 and 2001. Notably, she won the Golden Apple Award for Outstanding Educator in 1996.
Married to Lamar Frady since 1981, Dr. Frady is the proud mother of two children. She enjoys taekwondo, reading and traveling in her spare time. She has additionally been listed in several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, and Who’s Who of American Women.
