A celebrated figure in his field, Dr. Tse has amassed more than 40 years of professional experience in his areas of expertise. A graduate officer in the department of immunology and microbiology and associate professor at the School of Medicine at Wayne State University, he formerly served Merck Sharp & Dohme Research Laboratory as a senior research immunologist and research fellow in the 1980s and Columbia University as an adjunct assistant professor. He commenced his career as a fellow of the Arthritis Foundation at the National Institutes of Health in the late 1970s.

To prepare for his illustrious career, Dr. Tse pursued a formal education and received a Bachelor of Science, with honors, from California Institute of Technology in 1972, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of California, San Diego, in 1977. After obtaining some hands-on experience in the field, he earned a Master of Business Administration from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, in 1986.

In recognition of his exceptional accomplishments, Dr. Tse has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. A recipient of grants from the National Institutes of Health and National Multiple Sclerosis Society since 1988, he also received the WSU College Teaching Award in 1998, 2001, and 2009, the Wayne State University Faculty Research Award in 1996 and 1998, and the Research Career Development Award from the National Institutes of Health every year from 1992 to 1997. In addition, he also received several scholarships to the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Tse was selected for inclusion in several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, and Who’s Who in the World. Notably, he was presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.
