Bertrand Coiffier, Researcher and Professor of Hematology at the University of Lyon, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care education.
Renowned for his work with lymphoma and hematology, Dr. Coiffier serves as a founding member and treasurer of Groupe d’Etudes des Lymphomes de l’Adulte in France. He started the group in 1984 to bring together French and Belgian physicians interested in the treatment of lymphomas. Over the years, he has headed a number of such initiatives, including several clinical trials, and has served as a professor and the head of the Department of Hematology in the Hospices Civils de Lyon. Dr. Coiffier contributed his findings in these efforts to a variety of professional journals, notably Oncotarget, the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Clinical Drug Investigation, and the Journal of Hematology & Oncology.
To prepare for his endeavors, Dr. Coiffier earned an MD in 1974 and a PhD in 1980 from the University of Lyon. He was certified as a professor of hematology in 1989, certified in medical oncology in 1983, and certified in hematology in 1977.
Dr. Coiffier’s hard work and dedication have earned him recognition throughout his career. He was honored with inclusion in five editions of Who’s Who in the World, as well as one each of Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering. Further, he was an inductee of Worldwide Lifetime Achievement in 2018.
When Dr. Coiffier isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Christiane Fredric, and his children, Pascale, Julien, and Emmanuelle.
