With more than 40 years of professional experience, Dr. Archer has been recognized as professor emeritus of Willamette University since 1996, having been a Guy F. Atkinson Professor since 1979 and professor since 1976. In addition to his primary roles, he worked as dean of the Graduate School of Administration. Prior to joining Willamette University, Dr. Archer worked with the University of Washington from 1956 to 1970, the University of Minnesota from 1954 to 1956, and with J.M. Dain Company from 1950 to 1953.
Dr. Archer began his career as a student at the University of Minnesota, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 1949. He continued his studies with the school, completing a Master of Arts in 1953 and Doctor of Philosophy in 1958. Dr. Archer then joined the University of California, Los Angeles, as a postdoctoral student until 1960.
Throughout his career, Dr. Archer has been recognized for his contributions, having been named among the Leading Educators of the Year, Leading Educators of the World, Top 100 Educators and Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century. He has been featured in more than 35 editions of Who’s Who in America, seven editions of Who’s Who in the World, and in Who’s Who in the West, Who’s Who in Finance and Business and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering.
