An expert in educational leadership and literacy, Dr. Gammon currently utilizes many years of professional excellence in her roles as the president and CEO of G2 Educational Services, Inc. The educational consultancy offers school improvement and strategic planning, specifically to schools that need educational improvements due to deficiencies in compliance with state or federal standards. They place an emphasis on small, rural schools with few resources. Dr. Gammon’s responsibilities with the organization include training teachers and administrators on mentoring and instructional practices, consulting on all levels of education, developing policies, evaluating teachers, overseeing instructional programs, and handling administrative work.

In addition to her work in the field, Dr. Gammon also maintains positions at Pima Community College and Northern Arizona University, where she teaches literacy and leadership. Her prior experience encompasses all levels of students, from kindergarten to college, and includes notable posts as a teacher and Peace Corps volunteer at a Venezuelan university and as the superintendent of schools in rural Arizona. Dr. Gammon’s began her own academic journey by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Arizona in 1964 and a Master of Science in curriculum and instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1970. She also holds a PhD in secondary education with a concentration on reading and English as a second language from the University of Arizona in 1980. In recognition of her efforts, she was inducted into the Rural Hall of Fame in 1996 and earned the Rural Superintendent of the Year Award in 1993.

When Dr. Gammon isn’t working, she is very active in her community. She was the president of the National Rural Education Association Foundation, and is a member of the National Staff Development Council, the International Reading Association, the ASCD, and Phi Delta Kappa International. Further, she is the cofounder of the Arizona Small Schools Association, the president of the board of directors of the Tucson Regional Ballet, and a supporter of local police and fire departments, the Community Food Bank, and Habitat for Humanity International.

In her free time, Dr. Gammon enjoys reading, exercising, traveling, spending time with her family and friends, and performing in ballet recitals and boot camps.
