Markus Zimmer, EdD, International Justice Systems Advisor and Consultant at the Wildlife Conservation Society, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the legal industry.

With more than 40 years of professional excellence in a diverse range of specialties, Dr. Zimmer has served as a consultant with the Wildlife Conservation Society since 2017 and a member of the Rule of Law Experts Roster with the Rapid Response Team Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery with the United Nations Development Program since 2014. In addition, he has simultaneously served as a senior advisor and secretary general of the board of directors for the Sleuk Rith and Genocide Institute in Cambodia since 2013.

In addition to his primary endeavors, Dr. Zimmer has most recently acted as an assessment interviewer in the Ukraine since 2018, as a member of the scientific council of Utrecht Law Review since 2010, and as chair of the advisory council with the International Association for Court Administration since 2009. After serving in the United States Army Reserve from 1964 to 1970, Dr. Zimmer sought a formal education at the University of Utah, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in 1971 and a Master of Arts in philosophy in 1975. He went on to receive a Master of Education from Harvard University in 1977 and subsequently earned a Doctor of Education in the philosophy of education three years later. He has since contributed numerous articles to professional journals throughout his career, as well as articles and law reviews. He is a well-known speaker in the field.

In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Dr. Zimmer was awarded the Roy B. Gibson Freedom of Information Act Award by the Utah chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists in 2000 and the U.S. Court Director’s National Award for Outstanding Leadership in 1994. In addition, he was deemed a Fulbright Fellow from 1972 to 1973. Alongside his other prominent accomplishments, he has been selected for inclusion in several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, and Who’s Who in the World.
