Eberhard Mueller-Heubach, Professor Emeritus at Wake Forest University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in obstetrics and gynecology.
In 2007, Dr. Eberhard-Mueller became professor emeritus, bookending a long and successful career as a professor and medical practitioner in the areas of obstetrics and gynecology. He started teaching at Wake Forest University in 1989, serving as both a professor and chair of obstetrics-gynecology at the institution. Prior to joining the faculty, he was an associate professor at the Magee-Women’s Hospital at the University of Pittsburgh and chief resident at the Presbyterian Medical Center of Columbia University. In addition to these roles, Dr. Eberhard-Mueller was the president of the Perinatal Research Society of The Council of University Chairs of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Eberhard-Mueller earned a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Cologne in 1966, working as an intern at the Women’s Hospital at the university from 1967 to 1968. He then relocated to the United States, becoming an intern at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey. He served as a research fellow in reproductive physiology with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University, and as a resident at the Presbyterian Medical Center. He is certified in maternal-fetal medicine, obstetrics, and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
In order to provide the best quality medical services and education to future medical professionals, Dr. Eberhard-Mueller has maintained affiliation with a variety of organizations that have aided in his career development. He served as the president of the Gynecological and Obstetrical Society and also the American Obstetrics and Gynecology Society in the early 2000s. Dr. Eberhard-Mueller was involved with the Society of Reproductive Investigation and he was an editorial board member of Ob-Gyn.
