Paul Chang, PhD, Theology Studies Educator, Researcher, and Pastor, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Religion.
Originally from South Korea, Dr. Chang now serves as director of the Institute for Researchers on Metatheology in Chapel Hill, as well as secretary general of the United Cultural Convention in Raleigh, North Carolina, and a senior fellow of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies in Pasadena, California. He is the author of such works as “Destiny Determinations in Ancient Mesopotamia, A Criterion for Culture Critique of the Ancient World” and “Metatheology”, as well as a contributor to “The Cardiomorphological Functions of the Sumerian SA for Heart” and the Journal of the Russian Academy of Sciences, now Doklady Mathematics.
Born to Hyun Tae Chang and Dae Jae Lee in Yesan, South Korea, Dr. Chang attended Seoul National University to earn a MA in 1967, followed by an AM from Duke University in 1971 and a PhD from Muenster University in 1980. He is the former director of the Aram Institute for Ancient Studies at Anyang, South Korea, where he served from 1981 to 2001. He was also the president of the Korean Society for Ancient Near Eastern Studies and a professor of Hansei University. He was a frequent visiting research scholar with American universities, and was a guest lecturer at the International Conference on the Tower of Babel and Ziggurats.
In addition to academic pursuits, Dr. Chang served to the rank of first lieutenant with the South Korean Army from 1963 to 1967. He was named one of the 500 Greatest Geniuses of the 21st Century by the board of governors of the American Biographical Institute in 2007, and is a Marquis Who’s Who Industry Expert as well as a recipient of an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Chang has appeared in numerous volumes of Who’s Who in America, as well as the pages of Who’s Who in American Education and Who’s Who in the World. He is the proud father of Sang Eun and Sang Young with his wife, Yeon Sook Lee.
