Myron Fottler, Healthcare Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in healthcare management education.

Since 1999, Dr. Fottler has provided his services and experience as a professor and program director at the University of Central Florida. He possesses more than four decades of experience and earned skills that translate well into the classroom. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Central Florida, Dr. Fottler taught at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the State University of New York at Buffalo. He has also consulted for numerous legal firms and corporations. In addition to these positions, Dr. Fottler has shown interest in public radio, volunteering as a radio announcer for the National Public Radio WUAL 91.5 from 1989 to 1992.

Dr. Fottler prepared for a career in this field by first earning a Bachelor of Science from Northeastern University in 1962. He continued at Boston University to earn an MBA a year later. A few years later, he returned to academia, acquiring a PhD from Columbia University in 1970. Throughout his career he has authored more 21 books, contributed to more than 50 book chapters and to more than 150 articles in professional journals. He has received such prestigious awards as 2017’s Fundamental of Human Resources Management award, the Faculty Publisher of the Year Award from the American Academy of Medical Administrators and the Outstanding Service Award from the Healthcare Management Division from the Academy of Management. In 1997, Dr. Fottler received the Hayhew Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is a 2017 recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award.

In his career, Dr. Fottler has maintained professional affiliation with a number of organizations. Memberships and connections with these organizations have resulted in professional growth and development. These organizations include the American College of Healthcare Executives, Regents Advisory Committee for Central Florida, the Industrial Relations Research Association, the Medical Group Management Association, the Academy of Management and the Institute for Administrative Research.
