Sandra Kay Goddard, Retired Elementary School Teacher, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Elementary Education.

Now retired, Ms. Goddard has taught in Bergholz, Ohio from 1969 to 2006, for many years with the Gregg Elementary School, and for seven years with the Springfield Middle School for the elementary grades.  She has held numerous roles as a teacher, including media club adviser for Springfield Middle School. Ms. Goddard is a Marquis Who’s Who Industry Expert and a recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award who can be found in the pages of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in the Midwest, Who’s Who of American Women, and the 3rd edition of Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America.

Born in Steubenville, Ohio, Ms. Goddard is an alumna of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she earned a BS in education in 1969. While teaching at Gregg Elementary, she earned a MEd from Miami University in 1973. Ms. Goddard was chosen as a Praxis III Assessor for the Ohio Department of Education from 2002 to 2007, and a spelling bee co-coordinator for the Edison Local Spelling Bee from 2003 to 2007. She has received grants from the Jefferson County Schools in 1994 and 1991. As a graduate student, she received support as a Martha Holden Jennings Scholar from 1972 to 1973.

Ms. Goddard has held numerous civic and professional roles throughout her esteemed teaching career, and has held a seat on the appeals board of the Ohio Education Association, the executive committee of the Edison Local Education Association, and Delta Kappa Gamma, where she was legislative chair from 1990 to 1992. She is a CPR, AED, and First Aid instructor and CPR Professional Rescuer of the American National Red Cross, and has been part of the group’s County Disaster Team since 1997. In her free time, Ms. Goddard enjoys song, reading, theater, collecting Hummel figurines and bells, and photography.
