Gay Yeager Munguia, MEd, Retired Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Education.
Now retired from teaching, Ms. Munguia dedicated 49 years of her life to education, beginning as a high school teacher and with a variety of professions before retiring as team leader of the Conroe Independent School District in 2004. She has been a tutor, ladies spa manager, aerobics instructor, interfaith curriculum developer, salesperson, author, eBay merchant, and a celebrated theater actor noted for her role in “Truman Capote’s A Christmas Memory.” Today, Ms. Munguia gives much of her time to the Walden Community Church, and is still a theater performer.
Ms. Munguia has been featured in the pages of Who’s Who in American Education, as well as Who’s Who in the West and Who’s Who of American Women. She earned a BA in English and a BA in history from Lamar University, followed by a MEd and a master’s degree in education administration from Sam Houston State University. Ms. Munguia was named 2003 Teacher of the Year of Conroe Independent School District and 2002 Humanitarian of the Year, and is certified as an English as a Second Language Teacher. She is the proud mother of Lane David, Lynn Alice, and Lee Douglas, and grandmother of Shelby, Tyler, J.D., Cade, Weston, and Zane. Ms. Munguia still enjoys writing, dance, fitness, and tap dancing, as well as travel.
