Alan M. Warne, EdD, Continuing Education Educator and Consultant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Postsecondary Education.
Dr. Warne is an accomplished continuing education professional currently retained as a peer grant reviewer for the U.S. Department of Education and a member of the continuing medical center statewide advisory board and governing committee of the University of Kansas. He was the vice president of operations for Silver Fox Associate in Kansas City from 2007 to 2011. Dr. Warne is the recipient of a Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarian Award and an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievers Award. He has appeared in the pages of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the Midwest, and Who’s Who in the World.
Born in Pierre, South Dakota to Maynard L. and Ione P. Warne, Dr. Warne attended Arizona State University, where he was a foreign student advisor until 1968 and where he earned a BA in political science in 1967. He went on to earn a MA in educational psychology from the Eastern Kentucky University, where he became director of international student services from 1968 to 1971. He went on to serve in a similar role for Temple University and other institutions, ultimately serving from 1986 to 1999 as the chief executive officer and vice president for programs for People to People International in Kansas City. Dr. Warne earned an EdD in continuing education from Temple University in 1978, and joined the University of Kansas in 2002.
Dr. Warne has lent his talents to numerous projects in Kansas City, including the site planning committee of the Kansas City School District, and as a board member of the arts committee for the Mayor’s UN Day Committee. He is a curriculum guide contributor in Kansas City and Seville, as well as a frequent contributor to national professional newsletters. He was a delegate leader for the Baltic Nations of Ambassadors Inc, a fellow of Rotary Club International, and has received a 1975 travel grant from the Republic of China Ministry of Education. In his free time, Dr. Warne enjoys volunteerism, travel, cinema, theater, and organizational development. He is the proud father of Alan, Junior M., Andrea W. White, and Amy N. with his wife, Joan Caulfield.
